Aquarium is designed to fully embrace its spectacular environment with expansive inverted glass windows to reduce heat gain from the South & West and protect the coast’s aviary population from unintended bird-strikes. Its gentle curves complement its nautical positioning so that it sits proudly, like a beacon, at the water’s edge. The house is elevated on pilings to address the projected rise in tide and is also protected by a stunning rock revetment that helps protect not only this incredible home, but also the Cove it overlooks.
But Aquarium is not just a stunning piece of art, active and passive energy techniques are cleverly designed into this sustainable home that could become Net Zero when completed. Aquarium is the benefactor of Brion Jeannette Architecture’s decades of experience designing energy conserving and sustainable homes that make living in them such a pleasure.
Aquarium enjoys approximately 7,000 sq. ft of incredible livable space with approximately 2200 sq. ft. of decks and open space. This home includes 2 full stories of interior living space and a 3rd story private roof deck with an enclosed entertainment space. While swimming in the Pacific Ocean is refreshing, a lap pool along the Western length of the home adds to Aquarium’s profound relationship to its surroundings.
Aquarium is designed for an owner that loves nature, the art of architecture, and seeks individuality.
